Marble is a crystalline rock, consisting of metamorphosed calcite and dolomite. Depending on mineral components, marble may occur in different colors and shades, beginning with white, thru yellow, rose, red, beige, grey, green to absolute black. It is an appreciated construction and architectural material because of its properties.
Variety of marble patterns created by nature is characterized by unique appearance and being presentable. It is easy to cut and polish. Thanks to its properties it makes structures more graceful, durable and solidity. Marble does not change its colors when exposed to ultraviolet light and is easy to maintain.
Due to high water absorption and low frost resistance it is recommended to be applied indoor. It should not be used for kitchen worktops as a result of low acid resistance. It is usually used for: floor tiles in low-traffic rooms, indoor window-sills, stairs, vanity tops, and fireplace elements.
